With PCBoost, you take control of your computer's processor; how applications run help determine the performance of your computer system. Almost all applications and games are written to only run with a normal processor priority setting and on multi-core processors without targeting which CPU core to run on. The processor priority setting instructs the processor inside the computer how applications and games should be treated. Obviously when you are playing a game, or are editing pictures or videos you want as much processing power as possible.
In Windows even if there are a few applications running the processor is still instructed to treat all applications and games as equals and if another application needs to interrupt CPU cycles it is allowed to. Most software companies never bother to raise the processor priority setting of their application as they do not know about the processor priority setting or want the application to run the same on every computer which helps them with technical support issues. This equality of the processor priority setting maintains stability on the computer system but does not account for performance that some applications can and should take advantage of.
Important new features of PCBoost
- PCBoost has been in development for several years, and this latest version incorporates many new features and improvements over previous versions of PCBoost. Listed below are some of the prominent new features.
- Fully compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003. Previous versions of Windows 95, 98, Me and NT are no longer supported.

- New settings added to prevent multiple applications from being accelerated at the same time, making certain only a single application has the highest processor priority.
- New application acceleration engine, runs much faster and supports setting the processor priority from low to high. Also added a block list feature to allow users to block applications from being accelerated.
- New ideal processor setting automatically sets applications to use processor cores that are not being fully utilized.
- New processor benchmark test feature has been added in to get an estimate of how fast and stable your computer processor is.
- Entire software has been rewritten from the ground up, no old code was used in this version of PCBoost.
- New and improved modern user interface, easy and intuitive to use and compliant with Windows user interface guidelines.
- Now supports Windows themes and custom colors, also supports up to 192 DPI font and graphics scaling.
- Software supports multiple languages and translations of all visible text to allow users all over the world to use PCBoost in their native language.
- Software updates can be downloaded and installed directly from inside the application without having to visit our web site.
